Losing Faith and Finding Foods

This is the first post that I have written in a while and I have to tell you, I really needed the break.  I actually got Weightwatcher'ed out, if that's a word at all.

It was like it was on my brain at all times and It was driving me insane.   I actually was eating the same things everyday.  As in, you knew what day of the week it was, just by looking at what was on my plate.

I have still been looking at foods in supermarkets and watching what I'm eating, I haven't gained any weight, it was just that I lost interest and couldn't find the motivation for anything.  I got overloaded.

It wasn't the blog that I was weary from, or from WeightWatchers, I just got tired, tired of always trying and tired of always striving to do my best, if that makes sense.  I know that if I put my mind to something that I really want, I can really try to achieve it.  However, sometimes, I just don't want to try, I just want to settle and float along.

I hadn't given up, it was more of a hiatus for my brain to focus on anything else.  It worked.   Today, while I was thinking of nothing and doing the garden, it felt like spring and my garden looked like the plant graveyard.  Anyway, I looked through facebook and there was a post saying from the 13th of March, Total 0% Greek Yogurt will be available in Dunnes Stores, nationwide.  I got thoroughly excited.  I have been waiting for this for years.

Sad I know, but I just hate buying the WeightWatchers magazine and all of the recipes of Greek Yogurt and not being able to get it here.  Grrrr.  Today though, all of that has changed.

Now if you find that you don't see it in your local Dunnes, all that you have to do is ask for it to be ordered in because it is now on their ordering list and once they know that customers want it, they will order it.  You can use it as yogurt, for desserts, as a spread, in cooking and baking.  Very versatile.

It's no count on Simple Start otherwise it's 1 Propoint per 100g.  Here's hoping I got some today, otherwise I will be very disappointed.

For any crisp lovers out there, I got these last week in Dunnes Stores, the 6 pack was on special for E1.50.  I have the melted cheese and bacon flavor and I have to say, they did not disappoint.  Each pack has a propoints value of 2 and in my opinion, there worth it.

Bulger Wheat.  I was skeptical, very if I'm being honest.  I am not one for using pretend food.  As in cauliflour rice, the reason being, It's not rice, I will spend the propoints for my real food.  Then someone recommended that I try Bulger Wheat and promised that it was real food.  I did, I love it and what's better, It's no count on Simple Start or for 130g of cooked bulger wheat, is 3 Propoints.  For the same amount of brown rice, it's 6 Propoints, so that is half the propoints for the same amount and I was stuffed after it.  For the 500g bag in Tesco it was E1.19.  So save/save in all directions.  If you haven't tried it, do!

Granola Bars, for the 2 that comes in a pack it usually costs 5 Propoints.  These, which I bought in Tesco for half the price and for the 2 bars, it works out at 4 propoints.  Yes, it's 1 propoint but hey, that's 1 extra for me.

So, if, this week your losing the faith, chin up, there's always light at the end of the tunnel, even if it does come in a tub of 0% Greek yogurt:-)

Enjoy the Niptuck way, so you don't have to!

  1. OH MY GOD! I am so excited about total 0% now being in Dunnes! I have been using Liberté which is nice but nowhere near as nice as the Total. Checking my local dunnes ASAP!
